I've been Loki for eight to eightteen hours a day in the last year. I love being Loki, he's so optimistic and laid back, but when I spend all day, every day as Loki, the only art I can come up with is this:
Fifty Happy Cats

It's cute, and I'm happy with it, but it's enough to drive a girl out of her mind. So I'm taking a vacation from being Loki. It took four days and three hours of exercise a day to get him out of my system. FOUR DAYS! As a result, I've gone back to some things in my original style. They are, however, nothing like Loki's work. For instance, I finally finished this dark little number:
When I Grow Up

Because I finally got a title for it when the Pussycat Dolls came on during Walk it Out and the Honey and I started discussing Morlocks. The ones from GVSE, not the Time Machine. It's original title was "Golden Idol Barbie", but I ended up making her look a little more Bratz-like. Although her skirt is too long.
Incidentally, my mom wouldn't let me have a Barbie growing up. For that reason and so many others, my mom rocks! I had strong role models like Wonder Woman and the Charlie's Angels and a really gross Bionic Woman doll with little flaps so you could plug stuff into her cybernetic enhancements.
Speaking of cyborgs:
Skynet Prospectus

I spent so much time getting just the right balance of blue and white to make it look like a sunny beach with a blue sky and sparse clouds or a wasteland with a bright sky and storm clouds rolling in that I decided it would also make a good (De)motivational poster:

So, if you've gotten this far, I do have a question. While my Fine Art America gallery will feature everything, I have opened a new Zazzle Shop for the non-cutesy art and a new Twitter account as well. I will not be posting images children might find disturbing in Loki's twitter, as I know there are children following him there. However, I'm not sure of the general expectation of cuteness on this blog and on Facebook.
So, in your opinion, if you have one, should I create a new fan page for art on Facebook for the grownup stuff and keep the images out of the Orange Cat Blues blog (just putting in links) when I do something new, or should I just drop it all into one place? Feel free to send me your concerns privately on Facebook or Twitter, I assure you I will make no silly judgements on your religious beliefs or artistic knowledge if you do so. My intent is solely to balance your comfort with your interest in seeing new work.
(Keep in mind when you answer that one of the pieces I will be finishing soon is a rather graphic oil painting about cosmetic testing featuring a clothed pinup girl with a dead bunny.)
